Upcoming Workshop

February 11- Carol Nelson, Experimental Acrylics

This workshop will be like a jump start for a dead battery.  If you're stuck in a rut, doing the same thing over and over, you might just want to try some new materials and techniques to get your creativity flowing again.
Carol will demonstrate the use of unusual materials in abstract contemporary painting.  She will discuss fundamentals of composition and color selection.  Each student will create at least one abstract painting using such materials as torched metal foils, foam plates,  sand, shells, burlap, and even kitty litter.

There will be an additional materials fee for the materials supplied by Carol including MDF supports, origami foils, Custom Patch, and a variety of texture materials.

Student materials list:
Acrylic paints - Carol uses Golden Fluid Acrylics - her favorite colors are listed on her website under "Odds 'n Ends"
The usual stuff - brushes, paper towels, water spray bottle, water container, palette, hair dryer, small palette knife

Workshops are held at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 4500 Wadsworth Blvd., Wheat Ridge. Contact Marilyn Roll.
